2 or 4 weeks Falcon Husbandry and Healthcare Training Program
ADFH has developed a special internship program for falconers and raptor rehabilitators to provide them with extensive knowledge and practical orientation in avian husbandry and medicine. It is divided into the 2 and 4 weeks internship program.
This program applies for falconers, raptor rehabilitators and biology students only. The 2 weeks Falcon Husbandry and Healthcare Training Program is especially useful for beginner falconers and people working in rehabilitation centers with birds of prey. The 4 weeks Falcon Husbandry and Healthcare Training Programs similar to the 2 weeks program. However, it provides a more comprehensive and in-depth training. It is especially useful for beginner and more advanced falconers and people working in rehabilitation centers with birds of prey.
Both, the 2 and 4 weeks Falcon Husbandry and Healthcare Training Programs a comprehensive and profoundly interactive education in both theory and practice of falcon and avian husbandry. At the hospital, the trainee will be taught the keeping, care taking and handling of falcons and comprehensive training will be given on care and management of falcons.
Theory classes will be held throughout the internship period. Handouts of learning material will accompany these theory sessions. The trainees are expected to complete assignments for each of these classes which have to be given in form of presentations. The trainees are encouraged to refer to the extensive Avian Medicine library in ADFH in preparation for their training and for the assignments.
